Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is this Kombucha – Health Drink 200 ml and how is it made?
This kombucha is a naturally fermented drink made in Auroville from organic black tea, sugar, and a live culture (Panacea mushroom/SCOBY), with natural flavourings like rose petals, lemongrass, pineapple, cucumber, ginger, or turmeric. During fermentation, the culture feeds on sugar and produces organic acids, enzymes, and vitamins that give the drink its light fizz and tangy, refreshing taste.
What are the benefits of drinking this kombucha regularly?
Many people drink kombucha to support digestion, gut balance, and overall energy. Thanks to its tea base and fermentation, it may provide probiotics and antioxidants, and can be a more wholesome alternative to sugary soft drinks. The maker also positions it as a gentle daily detox drink; however, kombucha is not a medicine and should not replace medical treatment for any condition.
Does this kombucha contain alcohol or is it safe for all ages?
Although kombucha is fermented, this drink does not contain intoxicating levels of alcohol and is generally safe for most people when consumed in moderation. That said, because it is a live, acidic beverage, pregnant or breastfeeding women, very young children, people with serious health conditions, or those with weak immunity should consult a doctor before consuming kombucha.
How much of this 200 ml kombucha should I drink in a day?
There is no fixed medical dosage, but for most healthy adults 100–200 ml per day is a sensible starting range. You can sip a bottle during the day or with meals and increase slowly if it suits your digestion. If you are sensitive to acids, have acidity/GERD, or are diabetic, start with a smaller quantity and seek medical advice before making it a daily habit.
How should I store this kombucha and how long does it stay good?
The drink is ready to consume when it reaches you and has a shelf life of about 4 weeks from the date of manufacture. It should be kept cool and away from heat; in warm conditions, refrigeration helps slow fermentation and maintain taste. Over time it can become more sour, in which case you can dilute it with water. Avoid metal cups, and if a new “mushroom” forms, strain it out with a plastic strainer before drinking.
Is it suitable for diabetics or people watching their sugar intake?
Some sugar remains in the drink after fermentation, so anyone with diabetes or on a low–sugar diet should monitor intake carefully and consider the sugar coming from other foods. The brand notes that diabetics can drink it if they manage their sugar from other sources, but this should be done under guidance from a healthcare professional.
