André Hababou’s journey is atypical. Born in Tunisia to Jewish parents during the Second World War, later transplanted to France with his family, he did not feel comfortable anywhere, he did not feel at home anywhere. His only refuge was in drawing and painting, but earning a good living thanks to his talent was not enough for him. He longed for an unknown plenitude. Then thanks to some people he met and some books he read, he discovered that there are paths that lead to the Divine, and that setting out towards this goal was the very meaning of his life. The book then retraces his journey, the beginning of his adventure in the city of dawn, his meeting with Mother, his inner experiences and his material achievements. Andre does not hide his difficulties, his mistakes sometimes, his moments of wonder and his convictions. This is what makes his story both moving and unique.
