A Unique Friendship, J.R.D. Tata and Auroville
This book is the story of a unique relationship between the legendary industrialist J.R.D. Tata and a young man, Frederick, who had come from Germany in the sixties to be with the Mother of the Ashram of Pondicherry and who became one of the first people to join her extraordinary adventure, Auroville. But along with the story of that unique friendship, revealed to us through the correspondence between the two and through the meditative testimony of Frederick, one discovers also how much help the great man gave to that project, how much time and energy he devoted to that cause. A cause which obviously at the same time fascinated and puzzled him. The nobility, the kindness of J.R.D. Tata, his love for adventure and for youth shine through the pages of this book.
