Auroville Smart City of Another Kind
"I want to insist on the fact that this will be an experiment, it is for making experiments – experiments, researches, studies."
Fifty years after the foundation of Auroville, it may be legitimate to ask whether the vision contained in the above words has translated into reality.
This is the aim of this book. It does not claim to assess the successes and failures of Auroville, much less to judge if Auroville has remained true to its ideals. More simply, it wants to have a look at the various experiments conducted in Auroville without trying to hide their shortcomings, and it wonders whether some of them could have their place and their utility in what we call a ‘smart city’.
