Triphala Tea

Triphala is a health supplement that’s particularly great for your digestive system. You can read more about it here.

For the past few days I’ve been making myself triphala tea in the morning. On the days I was running late I felt tempted to break the habit, but my determination somehow persisted. Yay! If it had tasted yucky I probably would have broken the habit by now, but I got lucky. It tastes okay!

But if I do have the time, I dilute the taste by splitting the daily triphala dosage (1 teaspoon) into two or three cups of tea.

Here’s how I prepare my triphala tea in the morning:

Ingredients:
 • Aurospirul [triphala powder]
 • 1” ginger, peeled and cut
 • 1 mug of boiling water

triphala1  triphala2

How to go about it:
Put the powder and ginger into the mug of boiling water and mix them together. Then drink it as soon as it reaches a comfortable temperature.

If I am in a hurry, I just dump a teaspoon into the mug of boiling water, burn my tongue and run out the door. Hopefully you have more time in the morning than I do!
