Nurturing alliances and partnerships through networking is an important facet of Aurore's ethos and work. We at Aurore believe that with more players our work can travel far and have greater reach. Aurore wants to further the cause of renewable energy awareness and use through cultivating extended associations with NGOs, government bodies, citizens groups as well as industry and the corporate sectors.
Mission Tejas is a social project carried out under our aegis with the singular aim of discouraging the use of kerosene lighting in poor rural homes that do not have electricity. There are an estimated 85million such households across the country. The objective of the programme is to offer better lighting options - such as solar lanterns and LED lights - as an alternative to the smoky, polluting and dangerous kerosene lamp.
Mission Tejas is essentially a forum to facilitate wide and varied participation in this campaign. It pools and exchanges information on this vital topic with a variety of participants who include lighting designers, product manufacturers, NGOs, administrative bodies, financial institutions and corporate/industrial R&D, all in an effort to bring clean and clear light to all those who need it.
