Research Farm

AuroAnnam Farm is being developed as a research and demonstration farm for organic cashew cultivation, primarily to convince the local cashew nut farmers that organic cashew cultivation can be as productive as and possibly more profitable than farming with chemical inputs. Besides nine acres of cashew trees, there are also coconut palms, various other trees, and open fields for cultivation of field crops or vegetables. A patch of wild forest provides diversity of birds and insects for pollination, and in toto there are 120 plant species on the farm. Our research does not address academic questions, but is applied research that aims at coming up with a package of successful and proven practices.
