AuroAnnam procures food from organic cultivation, cashew nuts and other farm produce from Auroville, and items such as coffee, tea, and spices from various sources, mainly in South India. Some of our sources are certified organic according to international standards of organic farming. In other cases, we know farm and management personally and are convinced of their commitment to organic farming and the reliability of their organic claims.

Food cultivated with the help of biodynamic (BD) practices or of EM technology is known to be of highest quality and nutritional value, excellent taste and long shelf-life, hence we preferably, but not exclusively, source our food items from such farms.

Effective Micro-organisms

Effective Microorganisms (EM) is a liquid culture of aerobic and anaerobic micro-organisms mainly sourced from human food processing and from nature. It consists of lactobacilli, yeast, photosynthetic bacteria, ray fungi and filamentous fungi. It does not contain any genetically modified organisms, is safe and easy to handle, and harmless to human health.
